Letter Of Intent for The Proposed Flood Mitigation Works For Kuching City

Naim Cendera Holdings Berhad ("Naim" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Naim Cendera Sdn. Bhd. has received a Letter of Intent from Jabatan Pengairan Dan Saliran, Malaysia (Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Malaysia) to undertake the implementation of the Proposed Flood Mitigation Works for Kuching City on a design and build contract basis, jointly with Ambang Project Management Sdn. Bhd.

The project, a holistic approach will comprise an 8 km long flood diversion channel with 250 metre base width from Kampung Paroh to the estuary of Sungai Salak together with its associated components which will include among others like tidal gate, gated barrage complete with overhead bridge, rockfill causeway, and telemetry system which will mitigate flood for Kuching City and detention ponds at Sungai Sarawak Kiri and Sungai Sarawak Kanan together with bundings which will mitigate flood in the areas upstream of Kuching City. The project is expected to take 5 years to complete.


The above contract when secured is expected to contribute positively to the profits of the Group in the future. The estimated contract value based on consultants estimate is RM1.3 billion.

None of the directors and/or major shareholders of Naim or persons connected to them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the above.
